YOU GOT A FRIEND IN ME.

After his recent move to protect federal funding for Planned Parenthood, President Obama announced Wednesday that an additional 44 companies have taken the equal pay pledge initiated by the White House. It’s another effort to help end the gender wage gap; an effort that now 72 companies including AT&T, Amazon, and AirBnB have now joined.

Here’s what the pledge entails:

  1. Conducting an annual company-wide gender pay analysis across occupations.

  2. Reviewing hiring and promotion processes and procedures to reduce unconscious bias and structural barriers.

  3. Embedding equal pay efforts into broader enterprise-wide equity initiatives.
